Our Goals

The Centre for International Finance and Regulation (CIFR) aims to become a globally recognised academic Centre of Excellence in financial market developments and financial system regulation, actively linking academia with policy makers, regulators and industry.

CIFR aims to provide intellectual and research leadership in global and regional financial issues including financial sector innovation, regulatory arrangements, systemic risk and financial stability with a view to becoming an international leader in understanding and analysing national, regional and international developments in the financial sector together with their interaction with regulation across economic legal and policy dimensions.

In pursuing these goals, CIFR will contribute to establishing Australia as an important financial centre by enhancing Australia’s capacity and reputation as an international leader in understanding and analysing developments in the financial sector and the interactions with regulation across economic, legal and policy dimensions.
